Appointments

How do I confirm my eligibility?
  • To check your eligibility for CFC services, please call us at 434-296-5525 or stop by during office hours. You will be asked a few questions about your age, employment status, family size, household income and health insurance status. If you call and reach our voice mail, please leave a message. We check messages frequently and will return your call as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.
  • If you are likely to be eligible for care at CFC, we will schedule an eligibility screening appointment for you. This appointment, which usually takes 20-30 minutes, will allow us to gather your information and establish you as a CFC patient. You will need to provide proof of your household income at this appointment. If you do not have your Federal Income Tax 1040 form or did not file taxes for the previous year, please mention this when scheduling your eligibility appointment.
  • Medical appointments can be scheduled at any time following your eligibility appointment.
How soon can I be seen?

Providing care for people who are experiencing acute medical problems is our highest priority and we make every effort to see all patients as soon as possible. However, as a majority of care is provided by volunteer health care professionals, wait times vary.

How do I schedule an appointment?
  • Call 434-296-5525 to schedule your appointment. If you call and reach our voicemail, please leave a message. We will return your call as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.
  • Volunteer interpreters are available upon request to assist non-English speaking patients with their appointments.
  • Contact the CFC Medical Clinic at 434-296-5525 or frontdesk@cvillefreeclinic.org.
Is it really free?
  • Yes. If you qualify, the CFC's medical services are offered completely free of charge thanks to the support of volunteer health care professionals and community members, donations from patients, individuals, foundations, businesses, civic groups and churches as well as grants from the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Although it is not expected, we do appreciate a donation after your visit with us so that we can continue to serve you and others in the community.
