Dental Care

If you or your family need dental care but don’t have personal or employer-provided dental insurance and also don’t qualify for qualify for free care elsewhere, then you’re in the right place.

The CFC and our network of volunteers and partner health care providers in the Charlottesville community believe that everyone should have access to high-quality dental care and that no one should suffer needlessly from treatable medical or dental conditions.

The CFC Dental Clinic provides free acute care for people who are experiencing debilitating dental pain and limited restorative dental care, including:

Acute and non-acute extractions (pulling teeth)
A basic exam and treatment plan
X-rays
Fillings
Local anesthesia
Limited referrals for specialized dental services

The CFC Dental Clinic is not able to provide:

Sedation
Comprehensive teeth cleaning
Root canals
Gum disease treatment
Crowns or bridges
Dentures
Braces

Dental Clinic Eligibility

You are probably eligible if you:

Are an adult and have no private or employer-provided dental insurance or are a child age 4-17 years old and have no private, employer-provided or government-funded (Medicaid or FAMIS) dental insurance.
Are a resident of the city of Charlottesville or the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Louisa, Greene or Orange.
Have an annual household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Are a current CFC medical patient.

Dental Clinic Hours

Daytime Clinic:
Monday-Friday
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed for lunch from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.

Evening Clinic:
Select Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

Patients are seen by appointment only. The CFC Dental Clinic is not a walk-in clinic.
