"The doctors at the Free Clinic are so caring you could say that they have two hearts. They really believe in the Hippocratic oath they take when they become doctors. If they didn't, they wouldn't see the patients for free."- CFC patient

The Charlottesville Free Clinic serves working uninsured adults and their families in the greater Charlottesville/Albemarle community. Working people who do not have any health insurance and do not qualify for free care at local hospitals may be eligible for our care. Patients need to complete a financial screening to be seen at our clinic.

People who qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, or are unemployed may be eligible for free care or reduced cost care at UVA Hospital or Martha Jefferson Hospital. Patients need to complete a financial screening at the hospital of their choice.

Medical care is provided by volunteer physicians and nurse practitioners, and the CFC's on-staff nurse practitioner. Patients are seen by appointment only at our Daytime Clinic Monday through Thursday and during Evening Clinics on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Prescriptions are dispensed by volunteer pharmacists at the CFC's on-site Pharmacy during Evening Clinics. Acute dental care is provided by volunteer dentists and dental hygienists during select Evening Clinics at the CFC's on-site dental suite.
