Health Care Professionals:
Physicians and Medical Specialists
The CFC Medical Clinic uses primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, diabetic educators, and a variety of specialists to see patients during our evening clinics and deliver integrated care to our patients. These volunteers staff clinics on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contact CFC Director of Medical Clinic Operations Meghan Hinger at 434-295-8961 or email@example.com.
Volunteer nurses support our volunteer providers during evening clinics on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. They also assist our Nurse Practitioner during our daytime clinics on Monday-Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Additionally, “follow-up” nurse volunteers review charts and schedule referral appointments. Please refer to our volunteer portal.
Mental Health Professionals
Psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and social workers may volunteer to provide mental health assessments, counseling, and medication management for CFC medical patients during our evening clinics on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contact CFC Director of Medical Clinic Operations Meghan Hinger at 434-295-8961 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians volunteer to fill and dispense medications during our evening clinics at our licensed, on-site pharmacy on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you are a pharmacist, pharmacy technician, or interested in training to become a pharm tech, please contact CFC Pharmacy Coordinator Chris Hicks at 434-295-8958 or email@example.com.
The CFC Dental Clinic relies on dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants to see patients during our day, evening and Saturday dental clinics. We also rely on volunteers from UVA and the VCU School of Dentistry. Contact Shell Duff at 434-972-6233 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Non-Health Care Professionals:
Of course! We use volunteers during our day and evenings to help with reception, phones, patient eligibility screenings, translating and administrative tasks. Please refer to our volunteer portal for more information.
Daytime Administrative Support
We use a group of volunteers for support in our office. Duties include calling patients with reminders, chart work, handing out scripts and scheduling patients.
The CFC has a number of ways for UVA medical, nursing, and dental students to get involved during our evening clinics and with special projects like our insulin titration program.
There are opportunities for undergraduate students to volunteer at the CFC. We regularly accept undergraduate interns through Madison House and the University Internship Program (UIP) at UVA.
High School Students
Thank you for your interest, but we cannot accept high school student volunteers or interns.
